An afternoon cocktail cruise exploring the upper reaches of the Lymington River, as far as The Town Quay in the historic port of Lymington, famous for pirates, smuggling and dealing in salt, as well as landing fish of course!

Your Salamander Cocktails and Dinner Cruise includes a selection of cocktails, champagne, wine, beer and soft drinks on board Salamander before dinner back ashore in The Elderflower Restaurant.

Peaceful and sheltered, the Lymington River offers an intimate view of Lymington, its marinas and yacht clubs, boats and yachts of all sizes.

This cruise is an ideal introduction to Salamander for anyone thinking of spending more time on board Salamander at a later date.

Collaboration between The Elderflower Restaurant and Round the World Sailors with 9 Atlantic crossings under their belt.

At the helm of The Elderflower Restaurant are husband and wife team Andrew and Marjolaine Du Bourg. With over 23 years combined experience of working in some of the top restaurants in England and France, they are realising their dream to run a unique restaurant, expressing their perception of the perfect dining experience for their guests.

Andrew honed his skills at top London restaurants working for Chris Galvin of The Wolseley, Phil Howard of The Square and Pascal Aussignac of Club Gascon where he progressed to Head Chef. With a desire to re-locate to the South Coast, Andrew became Head Chef at 5* Chewton Glen hotel.

Marjolaine trained at specialised catering school ‘Art de la cuisine et Arts de la Table’ in La Rochelle. With a desire to broaden her experience, Marjolaine moved to London where she progressed to Food and Beverage manager at Cellar Gascon.

At the helm of Salamander are husband and wife sailors Chris and Sue who have sailed around the world on board Salamander and know when to recommend a great restaurant.

Your cocktail cruise will be on board the luxury 58 foot ocean-going sailing yacht Salamander of Lymington, which has successfully circumnavigated the world with the current skipper. Salamander is heated and perfectly suited for year round use, both sailing and cruising under motor, ideal for family gatherings and celebrations, private meetings and business networking opportunities.

Departure Details for a Salamander Cocktails and Dinner Cruise

The Salamander Cocktails and Dinner Cruise will normally depart Berthon Lymington Marina Wednesday to Saturday around 1600, cruising the Lymington River with views of Lymington River, and the Solent and the Isle of Wight in the distance, before returning to Lymington Town Quay for guests to disembark around 1900 for dinner at The Elderflower Restaurant.

River cruise under motor on board Salamander for up to 12 guests.

A professional crew, usually including the round the world owner skipper with tales to tell.

Drinks including selection of cocktails, champagne*, wine, beer and soft drinks.

Parking adjacent to Salamander in Berthon Lymington Marina, Bath Road, Lymington, SO41 3YL. Leave you car here, enjoy your cruise before walking ashore at Town Quay for The Elderflower Restaurant and a wander around the historic cobbles after lunch, all in your own time, before returning on foot to your car less than 500 metres away, or Lymington Town Railway Station less than 300 metres away.

What's not included?

Dinner at The Elderflower Restaurant, subject to availability. This is a very popular restaurant so unfortunately it is not always possible to secure a reservation. Alternative options for dinner may be available.
