Your Salamander Sailing Adventure short break or weekend break holiday starts immediately you step on board Salamander, an ocean going sailing yacht which has circumnavigated the world with its owner skipper.
After you have been introduced to Salamander we leave Lymington and will be in the Solent in a matter of minutes.

There are a number of attractions in the Solent, which can be best seen only from a sailing yacht, including Yarmouth, Cowes and the Medina River, Beaulieu River as far as Buckler’s Hard, Newtown Creek, the Needles, Hamble, Southampton and Portsmouth.

We will stay either at anchor in picturesque locations or at marinas convenient for local attractions ashore.
​
Depending on the number of days you decide to spend on board Salamander you will be able to choose where and when to see some or all of these destinations and more.

Salamander and her crew will be available to fulfil your every wish. Each day we will offer fresh ideas and discuss with you what you would like to do.
You may wish to relax and take time out or actively take part in sailing Salamander.

Your luxurious private yacht for a Solent and Isle of Wight Sailing Holiday
You will spend your time on board the luxurious 58 foot ocean-going sailing yacht Salamander of Lymington, which has successfully circumnavigated the world with the current skipper. Salamander is heated and perfectly suited for year round use, both sailing and cruising under motor. You can sit back and luxuriate in the warmth of the teak deck saloon with great wrap round windows for excellent all round spectating, should the weather be not so great.

Lymington, where Salamander is normally based, is well worth a visit on foot, a charming Georgian town with cobbled streets, with many hotels, banks, pubs, restaurants and independent shops, lying between the New Forest and the Solent, the most famous stretch of sheltered water in the world of sailing, the venue of so many world class events, and just around the corner from the Beaulieu River, Cowes, Yarmouth, The National Trust Reserve at Newtown River, Portsmouth, Southampton, and last but not least the world famous and iconic Needles on the Isle of Wight.
How to visit Lymington the Solent and Isle of Wight | Departure Details
The Salamander Luxury is usually based in Berthon Lymington Marina, in the Georgian town of Lymington.
Bespoke arrangements can be made for guests to be picked up from Lymington, Beaulieu River, Southampton, the Hamble, Portsmouth, Gosport, Cowes, Yarmouth and Poole.
Departure times can be agreed to suit guest’s wishes.

Lymington, Yarmouth, Cowes, Hamble, Southampton and Portsmouth are well served by trains and ferries making connections overland very easy.
Lymington, The New Forest and the Isle of Wight are unique destination venues for some amazing scenery, with luxurious boutique hotels and excellent fine dining providing the perfect backdrop to combine with some wonderful sailing on board Salamander, a traditional yacht with a classically designed teak interior.
